You may already know that there are 2 broad categories that motorcycle batteries can fall into - maintenance free and conventional.

Conventional

A conventional battery is one that you have to maintain to keep it in good working order. They are constructed so that cells are accessible and are made up with flooded electrolyte. They are the cheaper option because there is more work to do. Maintenance Free

These are more expensive than conventional motorcycle batteries and are being pushed by the big brands, and for good reason. Maintenance free batteries mean that water loss is eliminated. Once the battery is filled with acid it is permanently sealed - so youll never need to fill it with water or check the acid level. Its totally sealed and all of the acid is absorbed in the special plates and separators, so there is no need to worry about acid leaks on valuable vehicle parts and accessories.

Also, the amount of free-standing electrolyte above the plates is designed to be much higher in a new maintenance-free battery. Strong Motorcycle Helmet Materials

Sunday, February 1st, 2009

Do you know if your motorcycle helmet will protect you in the event of a crash? Most people probably believe that theirs will, especially if they’ve bought an expensive high tech helmet.

A debate is roaring in the cycling community about what makes the best helmet. Many would at first argue that a strong motorcycle helmet is the best defense against a head injury during a crash.

This might not actually be true, however. If you have a strong motorcycle helmet which is too stiff, it will be unable to protect you fully from brain injury in the most common types of crashes.

So I should get a soft helmet then, you might be thinking. This is also not quite the case. A soft helmet will be unable to fully protect you if you’re in a violent crash. This still leaves the question open.

One of the things your helmet is trying to prevent a concussion, a brain injury in which your brain strikes your skull. This can lead to bleeding, brain damage, and to death if not prevented.

You have two different layers to your motorcycle helmet. The hard outer layer is designed to help prevent breech of the inner section, which has shock absorbing layers to protect your brain.

A strong motorcycle helmet is still a good buy, you just need to ensure that it is the right balance in order to protect you. Any good helmet will be strong enough to protect the shock absorbing layers.

If it’s time for you to buy a new strong motorcycle helmet, you should do your research. Any helmet which meets Snell or DOT standards will meet certain levels of protection, and internet research can tell you more.

If you’re new to motorcycle riding, or are new to the high tech helmets that are just coming, these simple motorcycle helmet tips will help you to ride with a helmet that can keep you safe.

First off, when you’re buying a new helmet, give a full face helmet a try. They may seem more restrictive, but when you find one with the right fit, they can give you a more comfortable ride, and will better protect you.

Another motorcycle helmet tip has to do with the certifications available. A DOT certified helmet should be able to protect you in almost any situation. But if you are hyper concerned about safety, go with Snell.

If safety is a huge concern of yours, you can also get more safety from the appearance of your helmet. Choose a bright solid color that will be easily noticeable, and attach a reflective strip to the back of your helmet.

Motorcycle helmet tips also apply to proper helmet care. You should never hang your helmet from your handlebars. Many riders do it, but if your helmet drops, it will become damaged.

There are a few places you should never leave your helmet. The first is next to the gas tank of your bike, as the vapors let off cause damage. Direct sunlight will also damage your helmet, and it should be stored in the shade.

Always remember to never ride with a damaged helmet, a motorcycle helmet tip that can’t be stressed enough. Any helmet that was in an accident, dropped, or that looks damaged won’t give you protection in an accident.

These motorcycle helmet tips will help you to keep riding safely. Don’t forget that when on your bike, the helmet is the only protection your head has got, so you and any passengers should wear one always.

He then meets another guy from another chapter of your group who deals drugs and then a few more and soon you have 10 guys from 10 different chapters of your group dealing drugs together across the country. Now again this could be any type of group.

Now lets say those ten guys get caught dealing the drugs. When in came time to arrest them would all the Members of the Association all across the Country get arrested ? Let me be very clear here. Well the answer is a little crazy, If it is a church group well then it is only the ten people dealing the drugs that are Guilty. Why does there seem to be different sets of rules that depend on who you are or who you are Associated with? Saving Gabbi : Hope for a Child

Tuesday, January 20th, 2009

There maybe no greater thing people can do in this world then saving the life of a child. We rely on Doctors and medicine to cure diseases most of us just do not understand. Doctors work very hard and do the best they can with what they have learned, But I believe the real cure is hope! A sick person must believe they are going to get better and know that there are many people out there doing the same.

I met a beautiful little 10 year old girl named Gabriella. Gabbi has been diagnosed with a rare Blood disorder called Aplastic Anemia. What this means is that her Bone marrow is not producing new blood cells to replace the old ones. Without treatment this could mean the end of young Gabbi’s life.

David Negron,President of the MU Foundation an Organization who’s motto is “We help kids fight back” Decided to take on the task of not only raising money for Gabbi’s treatments but raising what is most important hope. On September 30th 2008 David and his staff called upon the Motorcyclists of the Long Island NY area to take a ride with them out to Martha Clara vineyards in Riverhead. and with around 100 Motorcycles in attendance they rode out on a bright sunny Sunday. Where they did just a little wine tasting.

Then it was off to the Celebration at Brennans in Hauppauge, Where all the Riders where welcomed to some great Bar-B-Q, Live Music by a band I really enjoyed 3 on 6 (3on6.tripod.com) and all where greeted by a Smiling Gabbi and her Familiey. I spoke with Gabi and her family, they told me about how Allie (Gabi’s 13 year old Sister) had recentley given Gabbi some of her Bone Marrow. I could not help but laugh as I read what Allie had written on the back of the T-shirt she had received from the Hospital after the transplant ” I donated my Bone Marrow and all I got was this Stupid T-shirt”

The Family seems very optimistic of Gabbi’s full recovery and I could see why, one look in Her eyes and anyone could tell Gabbi has the strength most men brag about having! This Benefit was a huge Success and with the Money raised from the run and all the Raffles over $5000 is going directly to Gabbi and her Family!
