The Dell 2135 Printer - Don’t Settle For Stale Prints
Wednesday, March 11th, 2009The Dell 2135 color laser printer is an ideal unit if you work from home or need a good color printer for a small business. Also, Dell 2135 toner are widely available, so there won’t be any worries about finding new color or black and white toner when it’s needed. This unit is a good option in a cost-conscious world, coming in at a price well below 600 dollars, making it really attractive to an entrepreneur just starting up a home business or the like.
How Much Can it Print? This unit puts out about 16ppm in b&w and 12ppm of color print jobs.
Printing Quality. Given its price, the Dell delivers 600dpi, which is more than acceptable for just about any small business print job. If creating fine documents like resumes and such is what might be needed, then perhaps a more upscale printer would be called for. Still, in everyday business use, this Dell will work nicely.
Problem to Integrate? As with just about any other Dell product, the 2135 presents little difficulty in adding it to a desktop PC or small network. It comes standard with up-to-date USB and Ethernet ports, so it shouldn’t present too many work issues. In this segment, the Dell is a home business or small network printer, so it wouldn’t normally need an IT staff to keep it up-and-running. Follow the machine’s direction and everything should work out.
How Durable is It? With a 40,000 page monthly duty cycle, chances are a home business won’t hit that mark for some time on patterned schedule. Given that, maintenance costs should be low, which also contributes to low per-page printing costs, which thereby make ownership of this unit even nicer.
Versatility. As an “all-in-one” printer, copier, scanner and fax machine, the Dell 2135 can put out color pages when required, and then scan them or fax them to others. This only increases its attractiveness to the home business market segment.
Don’t Forget. At about 250 sheets of paper in its standard tray, the Dell might need slightly more frequent re-stock. But, because it’s an all-in-one machine, it should prove adequate. Also, you get 24/7 on-site coverage for 1 year in the event of an issue, with 4 more years for a slight fee.
Laser Toners. The Dell 2135 toner cartridge puts out about 2500 black and white documents or 1000 color pages. For a unit in this segment, that’s pretty good. It also doesn’t cost a great deal of money, so you won’t freak out when reorder time rolls around.
